V40 TD 1998 model - Heater Issue!!

I have just bought a 1998 v40 td, just found out on the way home that the fans are working however no hot air is coming out of the vents. Its freezing cold at the moment so this is far from being ideal.
Does this mean I have to replace the thermostat, if so does anyone know how to do it??
