850 radio trouble shooting

Post by Gabewillwin »

i have a 97 850, with some radio problems. when i bought the car the radio didnt work. it displays "off" and when you hit the power the "off " display disapears. there is a power and alarm light incorporated into the stero and that blinks when the car is off. the appopriate fuses are not blown (the number 7 fuse to be exact). any idea if i can fix this with out buying a new stero? am i missing somthing?

Call your Volvo dealer with your vin and get the radio code and enter it with the buttons .but first check your owners manual as the previous owner might have left the code paper that came with the radio.

The ignition needs to be on for about two hours before you will see the word "code" at which time you key in the four digit number.
