Headlight adjuster knob... I stripped it. <_<

yeah I got a turbo now.

Anyways...

I stripped this...

Was trying to adjust the height of my headlights.... one is WAY up in the air.

was I even doing the right one?

And you may hate on me for this because I used a screw gun.......
Can I replace using one out of the 854 sitting in my driveway awaking salvage title for the junk yard????
and if so, how?

You chewed the head. that is not the same as stripping the threads. It can be fixed all be it badly. Just heat up a flat head screw driver and make a new groove. Practice on something else first

If the reflector isn't moving when you turn the adjuster, it may have popped out of the socket on the reflector. You can apparently push the reflector back to reconnect it but you need to remove the lens. This tip was passed along by John Sharp at SharpHID. He said that often people will replace the assembly unnecessarily, thinking the adjuster is broken off.

^^^Mine did this exact thing. It pointed way up into the trees, and I couldn't get the adjuster to move. I removed the clips around the lens, popped the assembly back on the mounting points, and voila! I could aim it. I still need to get it right, though...

Yeah I had to do that on my 850. Could be that since it was just driven 1200 miles down to me.
and yeah... its up in the trees. I am unsure if I am going to mess with it, as a new problem has arrisen that makes it hard to get to the headlight.... hood is stuck... posting a new topic about it now.
