broken front spring

I checked out a popping sound in the front end of my '02 V70XC, I found that the spring is broken. I found a complete strut assembly and it looks pretty cut and dry to replace. I have replaced them on domestic cars but not imports. Will I need any special tools to replace it or is it as simple as it looks?

wow the spring is broke, yes the entire unit is removed and repaired..do a search here..
[[ YOU cannot open the assembly without a spring compressor.. ]]
