ok, ive had my 97 850 glt for 6 years now. i havent had any major probloems with it and it still drives great. i have about 130k miles on it. about 2 weeks ago, my wife, its actually her car, told me that the motor shut of for a quick second. this happend to her a couple of times. on sat, she was about 30 miles away when the motor quit. i went ot pick her up and have the car towed home. i checked the ignition and get a spark. no fuel in the fuel rail through the shradder valve. i check the current to the fuel pump, turned the ignition on and no current so i turn it off, i do it again and viola, i get fuel pumping in onto the rear passenger seat(great). i check the fuse to the fuel pump and its in good condition. ive concluded that it is possibly the fuel relay. i have searched previous posts but could not find the answer. can someone tell me where it is? if it is where the fuses are under the hood, which relay is it? this is the car my wife and kids drive so they need it running asap. oh, if there is any other thing i should check, please let me know.
thanks for the help

I am no expert but I believe I read somewhere on here or brickboard that the relay is located at the same location as the other fuses. Front driver side firewall...You have to remove the 4 screws (cover) and there they are. Which one Im not sure. Wish I could be more help.
Good Luck

I've looked for a map of those relays, to no avail. Haynes manual doesn't tell.
Help keep MVS on the web -> click sponsors' links here on MVS when you buy from them.
Also -> Amazon link. Click that when you go to buy something on Amazon and MVS gets a cut!

thanks guys. i guess i will find out by turning on ignition and pulling the relays until the pump stops pumping. (of course keeping in mind that the pump stops when the system is full). i will post my finding when i figure it out. there is a relay to the pump right? i have read many post saying to check relay and that other people have changed the relay.

Fuel pump relay can be found by removing the 4 torx screws securing the fuse box cover. The relay is red and should have the number "103" written on top of it. On the front of the relay, you will see the part number, 9434225, as well as FUEL-PUMP CONTROLLER.
ok, thanks for all the help and i did find the relay and as turbo said, it says fuel pump controler on the relay and is red in color so it stands out a bit. so, ive changed the relay but still no go. the fuel pump keeps shuting off. i figured it was the relay because i was not getting power to the fuel pump. this is still the case.
my wife explained to me that the check engine light went out about the same time that she start hanig fuel flow problems. the check engine light was on for a while because from what i was told, it was the MAF sensor. anyway, i changed the relay behind the left front bumper of the car that is conected to the pump that is right next to it. there was water getting inside the relay somehow and i kept getting the check engine light due to the corrosion and shorting of the relay. i have had it disonnected for a few months now because i could not figure out how the water would seep in. now, for some reason after all these month of the check engine light being illuminated, the check engine light just turned off. can this be a cause for the fuel pump shuting off? i dont see that the fuel pump is bad since when there is power going to the pump, which is intemittenly(sp?), it seems to work fine. when i plug in the fuel relay and the power on, i can feel the relay switching the moment i plug it in.
i need help with this asap and all help is appreciated.
thanks
