'94 850 turbo - is remote locking available?

Post by Squeaky »

Our recently acquired '94 850 turbo wagon has key-activated central door locking and the factory anti-theft alarm (as they all do, I'm told). The previous owner says she was never given a remote when she bought the car (she was the second owner).

My question: can I get a remote from Volvo, and if so, what info will they need?

Thanks,
Squeaky

You can get them from Ebay for much less. Something like the following would be what you want:

Programming instructions are all over this board.

Note: I don't endorse that seller, I only picked that auction at ramdom when doing a keyword search for "850 remote"... ;)

Make sure to find out if your remote is the one with buttons that are side-by-side or buttons that align top and bottom. I think you can call the dealer and ask them and they will tell you by vin number or the year.

That's good (and much appreciated) advice folks - thanks!
