What 240 would you have? The start of a project

Hey 240 people.
I've owned a s70 T5 for 3 years now and love it to death. However I would not really be willing to disturb its 190,000 mile nuances with any kind of interior changes, their simply to nice.

My plan right now is to begin a 240 project car. ive seen them around town and just see a great deal of potential in them. some of the prime examples are the ones online you see "stanced" or simply lowered with deeper rims on them. this simple step transforms the look of these cars dramatically.

What im trying to look into is what generation of this iconic vehicle to pursue.
I've read over the entire Wikipedia page and am pretty familiar with the basic variations, really the only must is that it is manual, and turbo.

I'd be looking for a ride height around here

For me, it would be a late generation 240 Wagon. Mine would have to be automatic, have power steering and power brakes. I would want a rust-free original car which was well kept and in running order. Hand controls and a steering knob would have to be fitted. I need me a classic Brick Wagon.

are the 240 manuals prone to being problematic or just automatic by preference?

I must drive only automatics due to spina bifida and using hand controls. I prefer wagons due to extra room for wheelchairs and other gear. Power steering/brakes/knob on the wheel required as a condition on my driving licence. If you can drive a stick, you could choose one. I have not heard anything bad about them reliability wise.
