I have several posts so far, Here is the story. Originally there was a no crank and Fully guarded showed in the message box.
After several tests, I replaced the siren module. I now show SRS-AIRBAG service urgent. That is the only message left.
I downloaded the wiring from this site, determined that the 2/35 relay gets a signal to pulse the starter motor. Starter motor is goog, jumped from pin 3 to 5 and starter hits, I show a good 12.8 vdc at the starter.
Looking at the schematic I see a CEM and A TCM that allow the coil to go to ground.
What do you experienced VOLVO guys think? Please let me know what you think, your input is appreciated. Steve

IT needs to go to someone who can read WHOLE car codes.
The numbers of possibilities are far to great to guess and many can't be tested without system readouts from the car.
Does gear range indicate correctly on dash and next to shifter when the lever is moved through the gears?
If not then TCM, transmission connections, internal transmission faults, network wiring problems, or a failed CEM.
CEM can't be tried as it has to be loaded at dealer or a shop with Volvo computer tools and the subsription in order for a replaced to operate starter. The ignition key info is stored by Volvo and key memory is reloaded into a replaced CEM for anti-theft key recognition. W/O key info you have the same problem you have now.
Checking the network to see if it is maybe ok is not that easy. The network for non-powertrain things can be checked at power seat connector easily but the other network that has more bearing on no crank like you have does not have ready access without use of a serial plug adapter break out box tool.

Thanks, yes after looking at the S80 schematic, all things come back to the CEM. And with the complex nature it could not be as easy as just a swap.
Yes the gear position shows in the display as well as at the shifter, and goes through all gears while matching at both displays.

It began with a Fully garded message, I had other nunerous codes 37 in all, from the alarm, to the SRS.
I started with the voltage and downloaded the schrmatic off this site. A GREAT HELP. Thanks Matthew.
I replaced the siren module, this removed my alarm messages, all I had left was SRS- AIRBAG, in the message box.
When you turn the key to PosIII the starter would not enguage, I removed the relay and jumped across to verify the starter was good. Traced the wires from 12 vdc to the starter relay, out to the CEM (it controls the relay coil) to the TCM.
I suspected the CEM because of the amount of codes, plus in my display the odometer had no miles.
I had to tow the car to a Volvo dealer, O'Steen in Jacksonville, It was the CEM, and can only be programmed by a dealer $1300.
