Volvo S80 T 6 transmission

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

Volvo S80 T 6 transmission

Post by 4christinem »

Hi,

I have a 2001 Volvo S80 T6 that needs a transmission. The transmission went about 2 years ago and for various reasons was not fixed. I am ready to fix it now and have a few questions:
- is a rebuilt transmission an option for this car
- should i get it fixed by volvo or do shops like aamco fix these types of transmission
- any idea on cost for this

Thanks

That year and transmission had many issues. Knowing what some Aamco is capable of I would suggest going elsewhere to a reputable transmission rebuilder. I would not take it to Volvo as they will just install a reman and charge you quite a bit more than a reputable trans shop who has rebuilt one and fixed some of the issues along the way.

Thanks for the reply.

Any idea what type of cost is is for purchase and install of a rebuilt transmission for this car?

Also - does anyone have a recommendation of a reputable transmission shop in Westchester County, NY?
