Around the window

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

Around the window

Post by jolepatrol »

So the black trim is starting to peel around the windows. I was wondering if anyone has tried to take this off, as it seems that it's painted the same color underneath. Some of the S60's have no trim and just matching paint, and it looks a lot better. I've been trying to decide if I should do this or not :S Any suggestions?

I think it's not so bad, yet.
Use a black marker (permanent) to mask it at this stage. When the situation gone worst (probably after a couple ot years...) you may think about some paint job.
You decide :)

It's just like a huge sticker, it's held on with some sort of adhesive, but idk how strong it is. I don't want to rip half of it off while the other half is going to be glued tight.

Upper note is for front, bottom is for back stripes.
I'm able to check the prices online for the local bulgarian dealer, but i don't know about your dealer where you can make such a check...

Thank you so much! I assumed it needed to be heated, but I wasn't for sure. I'll see if I have time this weekend to finally do it.

Remove all plastik and rubber materials before heating!
VADIS said you have ro remove even the window, but... if you wish don't remove it (at your own risk of course). But remove the door panels!
If you need a manual for removing pannels and/or window just ask and I'll post them for you.
GOOD LUCK
