Few Questions about the atf diy flush.

First and foremost, thanks to this site for the diy timingbelt, I did it successfully on my gfs 2001 Volvo S60! Also did the idler pulley waterpump and tensioner.

Quick questions as im reading a few post on diy tranny flush.

What type of atf do I get, Im seeing a few mobile1 or toyota atf. And about 12 qts is that correct?

It says to fill as much as what came out, but I remember doing a radiator change and some atf came out, so how do I exactly know how much I have to fill? On the dip stick it says cold and hot, how do i exactly make sure I do the correct reading. How long do i have to run the tranny in-order to check the fuild on hot level, or how do I check at cold level?

Checking the tranny level, does the car have to be running on park or nuetral?

You did not see Mobil 1 at all.

Mobil 3309
Volvo ATF fluid (which is also 3309)
Toyota Type IV (which also is 3309)

Next buy 12 quarts of whichever fluid you choose out of the above list, then and we use another 3-4 qts of anything (cheaper, Dex 3 is fine)
Run those thru in and out first, THEN start with the 3309
That really cleans it out
