V-70 Oil Pan Help!!

So... 'we' busted my oil pan while trying to replace a motor mount. Ordered one off e-bay that said it fit my V-70. It arrived yesterday, soaked it in Simple Green, and went to scrub it when we realized it had what we thought was a screw on oil filter... went to take it off and it turns out it was a canister type! which is NOT what my car has on it. Yay!

So now we are at a loss as to what the heck kind of car this came off/will it even fit my car/what oil filter we'll need to buy.
There's a mark on it that does say 1997 and a part number that says 1275868-A and the canister cover has a part number of 1275809

Basically i just want to know if it's even going to fit my car, how I can find out or if I have to rip the guy who we bought it from a new one and send it back to him, only to have my car sidelined for another week.

p.s. we had JUST done an oil change not 15 minutes before busting the oil pan. Go us.

ps. my car is a 1998. The oil filter seems to come from a 2000 V-70, while the part number we pulled off the pan seems to come from a 1997/1998 C70 depending on which time I google it. SO CONFUSED!

The 1999 and 2000 models used a cartridge insert rather than a screw-on filter. Provided that your car is NOT a turbo model 1998, this pan should work I think; just buy the filters for the newer models. Look up under the car and compare the two; I don't think the mounting points on the block changed at all between the years; though the oil thermostat (for turbo models) did.

Check out a NAPA store; they usually carry the filter inserts. If not, FCP Groton sells them.

Yeah mine's not turbo, so hopefully this'll work. I just want my car back! Starting the repair first thing tomorrow morning, we'll see how this goes. Purolator sells a direct equivalent(or so they say) to the one I found on IPD and FCP Groton. Way more expensive, but it will work for now I think...

Btw, while you are in there it would be an excellent time to change the O-rings on the oil pickup tube. It is a known issue that makes the lifters noisy after lots of miles.

Definitely, at 275K we have them ready to go! Though this whole liquid gasket thing is something new to us...

so it turns out this one we purchased has the holes where an oil cooler needs to be attached. My car does not have an oil cooler. is there an easy way to rig it so the oil flows right and everything works properly or are we screwed?

Just bolt on an oil cooler - without a water supply it won't cool the oil, but will keep the oil in
