brake pedal clicking and pushing against me ABS?

brake pedal clicking and pushing against me ABS?

my break pedal starts doing some major clicking sometimes when Im pushing it and sometimes when I am not but when Im pushing it it goes against my push.. Im fearing that I will not have breaks.. I have a 1998 v70 AWD.. is this my ABS? if so anyone know what is wrong with it?

Find and pull the fuse under the hood for the ABS system and see if it still happens. If so, you might have dirty/faulty wheel sensors.

It might be the electronic brakeforce distribution kicking in, not necessarily ABS (the '99s and '00s have this, not sure about the '98s), my S70 did this and had filthy rear tone rings (the fronts weren't bad).

98's have EBD but it does not push back as that function does not run the pump, only blocks and reduces pressure in rear circuit(s).
Faulty solder joints on the wheel speed sensor terminals can do this when the signal drops out and returns when the problem is not matured.
Do what Blackburn said, it will get a quick answer if the problem happens all the time.

thank you very much everyone as it still does it so am going to give the sensor a fix :)
