Concerning my 03 S80 T6, I was told by Volvo that I needed a new SRS module so I brought a used module on line and installed it. I continue to get the "SRS urgent service needed" as well as my check engine light being illuminated. I called the dealership and they indicated that the module was not transferable contrary to what I’ve reading and hearing. My question is, if the air bags have not deployed can you transfer the module and do you have to download software when one is installed-despite the fact the previous air bags were not deployed. Also the dealership told me they found an internal fault in the driver information module, could this be the source of the problem?

DIM fault not related. SRS module needs to be reprogrammed.
