this is a followup from my previous post "electric fan". I started the car and noticed that neither fan was running, is this normal?

The fans run when A/C pressure is high enough if A/C is on and they come on for engine temperature exceeding approx 220 F.
If neither of these conditions are present the fans will not be on.

I replaced the blower resistor because my a/c panel and fans were acting crazy. The a/c would turn on & off when it pleased, there would be heat blowing out of the vents without anything turned on and it was 100 degrees plus outside and the re-circ would turn on & and off buy itself. The black a/c fan would turn on and off randomly with or without the a/c and the white cooling fan never came on.

When I first installed the resistor I tested it. With the a/c turned off the black cooling fan turned on as soon as the engine was started and the white a/c fan turned on and off with the a/c. It seems to have fixed the probs with the a/c button and no more heat blowing, however the recirc still turns off after I turn it on. Today when I drove it the black fan won't turn on and the white fan turned on and off a few times w/o the air.

Anybody have and ideas other than the resistor?
