Hi, Folks,
I asked the dealer to change the fluid during my last service visit, (84,000 miles). He said that the fluid did not need to be changed yet. I'm uncomfortable leaving the fluid in for much longer based on the service history of the GM 4L65e-gt transmission.
(as an aside, having put three 4L80e transmissions in my Suburban, I have developed a visceral mistrust of GM transmissions)
What transmission fluid change interval would you adopt?

If the car does lots of surface street city driving then 30K is not wasteful for a drain and fill.
If the driving is less shift intensive highway driving then 45K is probably fine.
I would get the pan dropped and see if anything scary is settled into pan and get the fluid refreshed soon..
