arm rest

Any good procedures on fixing the arm rest? Searching has turned me up nothing although I know this is a common topic as about half the used ones I looked at had the pad broke at the axis assembly...I"m just not seeing how to get this apart and I'm hoping it doesn't require the entire center console to come out.

"Fixed" how?
What's wrong with it? (that would be most helpful)
If it's the leater/vinyl I have a fix, if it's physically broken, that's another matter

Sorry for being vague I figured it was a pretty commonly know...like I mentioned over half of them I've seen used have this issue!

Here is a photo of the concern. I think it tended to happen to the ones with the silly rear cup holder insert creating additional stress on the cheap plastic parts. I hate pulling center consoles out...had a BMW with the same issue, boo!

A real PIA to remove and replace, it's hard to explain
It's easier to just buy a complete used assy from someone like erie

As long as you have the right interior code, they should have several there
To install the single pieces could wind up costing just as much and it's a SOB to get right

Do you anyone know if the newer 2005-2007 are replacement that will fit the older 2001-2004? They are obviously different looking but have to fit in the same footprint.
