DRL's
Searched a little bit about turning them off and I noticed a bunch of people giving the OP's a hard time about it being a "hazard" and whatnot. ANYWAYS, I don't always need my DRL's and sometimes I switch it to the corner lights and I'll forget to switch it back and they don't turn off when the car is turned off. I wanted to know if my switch is messed up, or maybe a relay? I know I had the famous dipped beam but fixed it by pulling the relay and scraping off the burnt plastic on the connectors and I'm hoping it didn't mess with anything else, because I look at my switches and there are 3 settings. 7 o' clock has my DRL's, but will not keep my high beams on, 9 o' clock is just the corner indicators that will stay on even if the car is off, and 11 o' clock is also DRL's but will keep my high beams when I activate them...and in case you don't understand (I've never driven another Volvo so I don't know if it's just mine" by saying it will not keep my high beams on means that I'll pull the lever and the high beams will be on as long as I'm holding it, but as soon as I let it go they turn off, but that is only in the 7 o'clock position with the little sideways 0 mark. Any help? :/

Its a software change by the dealer to disable the DRL's rather than a DIY option, you could look at fitting a buzzer wired between the sidelights and the door open switches so it will sound only if you open a door with the sidelights left on, this should act as a good reminder thus preventing the flat battery through leaving the sidelights on when you forget - Mike
