I currently Own a 1995 850 GLT with the Factory installed deck. The other day i inserted a tape adapter to listen to my Ipod. After getting home i tryed to eject the tape and it didnt work. I have tried many a time and still nothing. I called the Volvo service center and the guy told me over the phone that i should just forget about it and get a new one?!?!? Well i dont have the $$ for that right now, so does anyone know of a way to get it out?? thanks alot!!

PS anyone know how to Fix a broken glove box on the same car as well?? whole locking mech. is shot.

If you can't get the tape out and do decide to replace the unit, ebay has great prices on the factory tape decks. Prices for the CD units are a lot higher, but I've seen tape decks for 50 bucks or so.

Also, you might check ebay for a glove box locking mechanism. I think I've seen them on there.

I've never noticed how my tape mechanism works, but prying/pulling on the wire would be the angle I'd take.

As for the glove box: https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/chat/p ... php?t=2870

Just as an fyi, to keep the OEM look I bought a cd deck off ebay for my '93 when I got the car. They are averaging around $200 for the CD decks and $50 for just the cassette decks. Additionally, the OEM cd-changers are around $175..
