1994 Volvo 850 Non Turbo
With ignition key in run position fuel pump continually runs, injectors remain wide open, vehicle won't start.
With injectors disconnected and noid light installed while cranking the light will dim and appear to pulse and then go to continuous bright and no pulse. Vehicle was being drivin down the road when problem occured. Any help would be appreciated

Pull the codes from port A-2 and a-6 and post them back.
If you have not read codes before here is how it is done:
http://volvospeed.com/volvo_repairs_how ... rticleid=6
That is specific to port A-2 but it works the same in A-6.

The ground for the injectors comes from the ECU. The green wires are always hot via the Master Fuel System Relay. With the injectors unplugged I don't know that you can do a valid test with a noid light
You can pull the schematics from the factory service manual that we host here:

I apreciate your help Lee.I put the fuel pressure regulater in,cap and rotor. While cranking i would get three weak blinks then a bright one from spark plugs.(hence the cap rotor).Looked needed but didnt change. If gas pedal is held to floor car will start and die now.No acceleration,no idle.Does have xtended crank before starting.Tried to open your wiring link but for some reason couldnt. This car has a book of repairs and service over the years. This owner is new to car.Could it be security system of some sort? Trying to help them for they limited on income but ready to give up.

The immobilizer will prevent the car from even cranking so that is not your problem.
Have you checked the fuel pressure itself? It should be around 43 PSI and it should hold the pressure for at least 15 minutes or so.
You indicated that you replaced the fuel pressure regulator, had it breached the diaphragm? That can cause the engine to be severely flooded.

I did replace regulator cause it was leaking on vacume side to the point the vehicle ran fine with injectors disconnected. After I did pressure test KOEO.It went to 50lbs and dropped rapidly.Disconnected injectors and dropped slower but still dropped.Car will start W.O.T. after xtended crank but dies like you turn the key off when you back off throttle. When mashed back down vehicle still shutts down.I have noticed after key is turned off injectors are still energized and some air pump in air intake runs on then shutts down after about 5 seconds.I hope this will help Lee. Thanx Dave
