Valve cover torque setting

Post by ferrycap »

Hi all,

I have a suspected leak in the valve cover of my 1990 740 (b234f engine). Does anyone happen to know the setting for my torque wrench in order to tighten the cover nuts? It may turn out that I need a new gasket set anyway.

Thanks,

Hi friend, you can torque at a max of 7 lb/ft, and its better if you replace the head cover gasket too.

Thank you,

I'll give it a try and, if the leak persists, I'll change the gaskets.

I solved my valve cover gasket leak by replacing the oil cap gasket!
