1999 S80 - Right Rear Door Does not Open

Hi Everyone,

I have a Volvo S80 from 1999, which I bought new in New York.

There has been a problem with the right rear passenger door, first the door would not open from the inside door lever. Now the door does not open from the outside door handle. The power unlock works (at least the lock goes up and down when you press the button from the front). The power window works as well.

I cannot open the right rear door. Would appreciate any help on how to fix this

Don't know if you can get the door panel off if you can't get it open. Sounds like some linkage has become 'unlinked'. Probably is a way to release the latch with some sort of car theft tool but it is beyond my knowledge. Hopefully one of the experts here will chime in....

Here are a couple of VADIS pages regarding the rear door. They might help. Sounds like it could be the cable or portion thereof that might be broken.
