Windshield Wiper Leaking from unattached hose

Post by caseybc »

Hello,

I recently got my 2007 Volvo XC90 V8 back from the dealership for an oil change. They told me they filled all the fluids. I noticed my windshield wiper fluid went low rather quickly. I filled it back up and noticed it was leaking out of a black hose/tube next to the resevoir for the washer fluid. The black tube wasn't connected to anything.

It seems like a simple fix - the black hose must go into something but I don't know where. As I said, when I filled up the washer fluid resevoir the washer fluid poured out of the small black tube.

Does anyone know where that tube is supposed to be connected? Is this an easy fix or do I have to trudge back out to the dealership? It's an hour away and they are always booked a few weeks out. I would really appreciate any help.

This one turned out to be fairly easy. The tube in question is an overflow tube. It's snaps into the plastic where you pour the windshield wiper fluid in. I guess it serves as an overflow if you pour too much fluid into the system.
