my starter went out about a month ago. When I turned the key I just got a whining sound. I replaced the starter with a rebuilt one, and still got a whining sound. Pulled it and had it tested and the starter was also bad.
Got another starter, and the first few tries, the engine choked a bit as though there was a chance it would start. After that, again, just a whining sound. Except that every once in a while when I try it again after a couple of days, there's a bit of a pop on the first try. Also, the starter was bench tested before I installed it.
Battery is brand new, and I've also tried starting by jumping. I have reset the immobilizer, and I get no computer messages.
Anyone?
