First 5000 miles on my 1999 S70 NA

Post by arrowrod »

I got a free (plus tax & tags and penalties) 1999 S70 in June with 140K miles.

The poor thing had been setting in my son's neighbor's driveway for two years. The owner had hit a deer and crumpled the front fender and rear quarterpanel on the driver's side. The car had also failed the smog test.

So, I found this forum and began the: timing belt, serpentine belt, rotors and pads, motor mounts, xmodex work and used fender.
It now has 145K.

The Chinese factory #3 rotors and pads have not destroyed themselves. I use Walmart oil filters and synthetic oil.

If the car didn't have cabin "wind noise" I would straighten and paint the body.

It will be interesting to see how long it takes for the engine to explode with the cheap oil and the wheels to fall off with the Chinese parts.
