Hi guys! I have a 1993 940 turbo automatic transmission with 190,000K. I got this back in february and have nursed her back to road worthiness. I changed tranny fluid and screen, MAF, all prev maint that should have been done but looks to have never been done, and replaced a hose from radiator to turbo unit that was collapsed and wrapped in in duct tape. It's just started idling hard at first start sounding like it wants to die (until oil pressure rises I assume) then idles good around 1.5 grand. But when I press the gas pedal to accell there is is whistling or high pitched whinning noise. Letting off of the pedal lets the noise die down and it does not always make the sound (but does 9 times out of ten). I was thinking a vacuum leak or possibly a loose hose connection where air is being forced by the turbo but Can't find any obvious leaks or loose clamps etc. Any help or ides are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for any help in helping a volvo mechanic wanna be like me .
