Broken Injector?
I broke an injector while removing the fuel rail off of my 95 850 turbo and am curious of a few things. I went to a junk yard and pulled out a few injectors however they came off of 850's that were not turbo. The injectors do not look exactly identicle, can one of them be used for the time being? If not can I use the broken one for the time being?(Time being is a window from tonight to saturday when I visit a junkyard again with 850 turbo's)

I would have just reinserted the broken injector and left it unplugged, 4 cylinders will get you where you want to go. BTW, I heard that ford mustangs have the same injector.

If I had a larger garage, I could have more Volvos.

Thats just a broken pintle cap. No problem to use it again. If you want to buy just one of the pintle caps you can get them at Oriely's. I buy sets of them when reconditioning motors from http://www.bonanza.com
Use Vaseline when reinstalling the injector to the rail and intake and be careful not to lose the spacer that sits between the injector and the rail. It is a flat black oring with a small hole in the center. The vaseline keeps the orings from ripping during install.
Oriely's is part number Part Number: 274081
Line: BWD

The real problem is that you have a first generation Bosch injector (single pintle) and would be much happier with a third gen/fourth gen like the orange one. To buy new ones or get great advise go to http://www.fiveomotorsports.com . The owner there knows more about fuel injectors than anyone I know. He sells sets of new matched ones for a great price as well.
Call with both injectors in hand as they will need the numbers to tell you if they match up.

OK well I got it all put back together and kept the 5th injector unplugged, when turning on it started fine however it is idling kind of strange like buh buh buh buh with kind of a tick in the backround and when given gas it doesnt have the same power it seems. I dont know if the injectors will cause this when unplugged or if it has to do with previous issues I just finished(intake manifold gasket, PCV system, TP sensor, cracked iac hose). I didnt really mess around to much with it or test drive it I will be test driving it within the hour and will post any follow ups. any ideas before hand, weather test drive or not before establishing?

you are a few minutes to late i drove it for a few miles and it did not sound good. It sounded like it was knocking , was lacking power. the injector seal kit that was linked was for a non turbo and the spindle cap wouldnt go on my injector and i used a good amount of force maybe theres a trick to it but i couldnt fit it. one of the injectors I have look almost alike but instead of a plastic tip(spindle) its metel any body know?

I just motivated myself to pull the injector in 0 degree weather and slapped it up with some a&d and it pushed right in. Started and sounded normal, But I took it for a test drive and the gas mileage is reading low the best I got of an 1/8th of a mile doing 40 was 18mpg Could that be the injector? Either way Thank you for the knowledge.

Glad you got it together. I couldn't tell if it was damaged without hearing it. You are probably fine. The cars air fuel ratio will have to correct itself now. Don't worry about fuel mileage for a day or two as it resets. The short drives in cold weather also don't give fair reading as the car is giving extra fuel during warm up.
