adding freon to a '95 850T wagen

Post by erich »

I am trying to add some freon to a '95 850T wagon but cannot find the low pressure valve. I can see the high pressure valve clearly, located just behind the passenger side headlight (has a red cap with a "H" on it) but cannot find the low pressure valve. I've read the posts stating that it's location is either just behind the passenger headlight or next to the radiator on the passenger side, both indicate that the cap or cover shows a torque spec of 70 NM but still no luck. I have performed this procedure on a number of different cars (mostly German) with no problem but the ole Swedish girl is being a bit "shy." Can someone take a picture of the area where the valve is located or give a bit more detailed instructions on where to locate it? i'm beginning to wonder if either someone has moved it or the car is not what it says it is. I doubt both of these thoughts and am willing to guess that the valve is directly "in front of my nose" but i'm too blind to see it.

anyway, sorry for the long winded post, i'm just very frustrated that i cannot find it and that it's been close to 100 degrees F with extremely high humidity here in the DC metro area.

thanks for any and all help.

Eric
