Hello,
A few months ago I parked my car after a short drive. When I came back the car started but would not shift into drive. Being stuck I took off the plastic cover around the automatic shifter. I found a little yellow linkage in there which upon jiggling the shifter worked again. The car drove fine and other than having to jiggle the little yellow thing every once in a while I had no problems. Then the shifter started working again without having to jiggle the little yellow thing. YAY it fixed itself. But wait it's never that easy. Now twice while driving along the car seems to drop out of gear. I can hit the gas, the engine revs but no acceleration. Then I pumped that gas and it kicked back in. The second time the car stalled I pulled over, shut of the ignition, started the car again, wiggled the shifter and away I went. I checked the transmission fluid and it's full. Any ideas. Is this something an amateur can fix.
Best,
Leigh
