1995 850 Starting Problems

Post by 95bolvo »

to jdblackburn,
man, you guys rock ! my starting problem has been solved; it was the camshaft postion sensor. i think the rear seal started leaking oil and caused that sensor to go bad.
I went to the junkyard and bought the sensor for 50.00; i did go to the volvo dealer for the seal, a lot of your posts said the volvo seal was beefier than others and i agree, it was.
Anyway, 77.00 later and i'm on the road again; 217k and still rolling !
I love this site....i can't tell you how much money you guys have saved me; thanks a ton !

Man, Glad it's working out for you. Your jy sucks!!! I purchased one of those sensors for $5. I know $50 is much better than the $285 that my stealer wants but wow, $50 for a used cam sensor is bad. Try to find another yard with lower prices. Even our expensive yard is $9 with a 6 month warranty.
