Installed a new ABS but can't load the software because a Seat Heater code is blocking the loading.
I have not previously had a Seat Heater problem.

Use the DTC fault tracing in VIDA to sort out the set heater problem first. The 2005 and later use a seat heater module (SHM) that looks like a relay and resides under each seat on heated seat equipped cars. The SHM's have had some failures on 05 to 08 models.
Usually an SHM problem will kill the dampers on the same side of climate system as the failing SHM.

Don't mean to 'hi jack' the thread, but I would like to know if one can 'buy' VIDA to run on one's laptop like one can buy VADIS for the old vehicles. I know I can't search for codes with VADIS but is this something which one can do with VIDA? Or can one just use a code reader regarding, for example, the SHM?
Im not 100% sure about the spec but theoretically you should be able to get an obdii (or canbus) to rs232 cable and use that to connect it to a laptop. This is assuming someone has already made software that can use this cable in a meaningful way. There may be something in the spec that prevents this from being possible
I just grabbed one of those $150 DiCE units from ebay it seems to work ok

There was nothing wrong with the ABS.
The problem was caused by a badly corroded Central Electronic Module (CEM).
The grommet for the CEM was allowing moisture to get to the CEM.
The CEM was so badly corroded that it had to be replaced.
When the CEM was replaced and all the wiring connections examined and cleaned,
the problems were corrected.
So far, I can get away without replacing the wiring harness.
Thanks for yhe advise that I received.
