Trying to plan out stage 0 purchases based on mods I plan to add later.
As planned at present, my eventual setup will be something very similar to what IPD offers as their stage three kit www.ipdusa.com/products/8559/106958-ipd-stage-iii-kit-850-s70-v70-c70-t5-models, which was reviewed by an old guy like me who said it was too loud for his taste.
Given that my exhaust will be working in tandem with an 18t turbo and an appropriate ECU upgrade, can anyone here recommend an exhaust configuration that won't make sleeping babies wake up and scare 8-year olds in the third row seat?
I'm especially interested in achieving a more or less stock sound from 0-3000 rpm.
Looking for a relatively quiet exhaust setup

Do you have their catback system or their downpipe too. From looking around it seems the muffler and cat are where most of the restriction occurs. One think I like about IPDs system is that it has a new cat. I guess its probably not realistic to get a performance cat and muffler without a really dramatic increase in sound. Oh well...

I had the EST and found it to be TOO quiet so I removed the rear resonator. After that, then I felt it was PERFECT!
Not too loud, no droning at cruising, but it had a nice authoritive sound

JRL, EST's downpipe says it has an option to include the stock cat in the setup or bypass it, you know, for "track use."
Was it too quiet with the stock cat bypassed? That would be pretty crazy.

jtp, how did you come out on this. Did you get an exhaust installed and how do you like it? I'm also looking for a quiet (as possible) setup that will still go well with an upgraded turbo (18T or 19T).
