sunroof problem

I'm new so this is my first time here.
I have a 2001 volvo v 40, odometer: over 180,000 miles, runs great since i bought it years ago..
Recently, i heard a noise in the sunroof, when i opened it, there were 2 pieces of metal that came off, one in upper side and the other at the bottom.The metals measure roughly between 24 and 36 inches each, one is slightly longer that the other. they looked as if they were orginally glued into the sunroof frame. It still opens and closes, but since i removed those 2 pieces of metal
there is a gap and some times it gives me hadr time to close it. There is no water leak from the rain sofar. I would like to fix though. Is anyone familiar with this?
If needed i can take photos or what ever needed to get some help/
