95 volvo 960 flashing arrow and W S E modes Topic is solved

i saw that there had already been a post about this, but i'm still afraid there's something seriously wrong with my car. i bought it recently, it has 130k miles on it. i was driving it yesterday and i saw a small puff of smoke come from under my hood and smelled something burning. i was almost to my friends house so i decided it would be better to get there than to stop on the street. today i have a flashing arrow indicator light and flashing W S E mode buttons. i read in the manual that if that happens you should contact your dealer. but i bought it used and theres no one to contact. i'm wondering if its going to be safe to drive home
