V40 abs light?

Post by elchopperfreak »

Well, had the v40 for a week now, the abs warning lit up today, still have a working speedometer, and also the DAS triangle lit up.
Working on the wipers, since as you turn the off the stop were they are at, otherwise the car is running like a champ and everything else is working as it should.

Any tips or hints on the abs? Im getting another module to work with, just in case.

Found a vacuum (attached to the brake booster) whose plactic clips had broken off and was pushed off by a spring. Tied it back with a couple zip ties, the abs light went off for a bit, but returned later on, my guess is this part needs to be replaced since when you start the car in the morning the pedal is stiff and barely applies brake, till it warms up and I guess the vacuum works, then its normal braking for the rest of the day.

I did clean the abs sensors, but made no difference ( next im testing them with an OHM meter they should measure from 1700-1900

Been doing a lot of research and seems theres some wires that run underneath the radiator that tend to get damaged in these cars and make the system wacko. i will check those next.
I have a complete ABS pump, module and block just in case..

The CVVT changes the cam timing for cold starts and the change results in almost no manifold vaccum for a couple of minutes. Thus the need for vacuum pump. Sounds like you are describing the vac pump switch.
