91 240 Rear License Plate Lights

Hi,

I'm new to the forum so please forgive me if this topic has been discussed. I did a search but did not see anything. My 91 240 was rear-ended and the rear license plate lights were damaged. I ordered new Scan Tech lights, which are what all the parts stores are selling, but they are completely different. The old bulb and sockets do not fit properly into the new light although the light appears to fit into the valance. I called a couple parts stores that sell the Scan Tech light and didn't get much feedback other than either Volvo switched the part mid-year or that Volvo may have discontinued the old style of light. Has anyone come across this issue? Am I supposed to retro fit the old socket and bulb to fit the new light?
