Are these Disconnected hoses important on 82' 240
I was walking by my car today and noticed a little hose hanging out of the engine. It connects, along with a second disconnected/cut hose, to a cylander underneath the engine on the driver's side. I don't know much about cars and I'm not sure what this cylander is. The engine starts fine without this hose, but I'm wondering what it is and if I should try and repair it.

Sounds like your charcoal canister.
It handles fuel tank vapors.
You should probably fix it, for both safety and environmental reasons.
