I would NEVER put a used 2001 or 2002 transmission back into that car (since all the 2001/02 transmissions had issues).I can get a used lower mileage 2003 transmission with a Lifetime Parts warranty. The transmission is the same Model # (55-50SN) but has a different part number (mine is 9482-025).
Has anyone out there attempted this - putting a 2003 or 2004 transmission into a 99-2002 Volvo C70 convertible?? Did the computer accept it? Did other parts have to be changed to support the new transmission?
What I have found out so far that if I order a new (read: rebuilt) transmission directly from Volvo, there are different part #'s for a 2001 model year transmission versus a 2003 or 2004 model year transmission. On the converse of this issue, I spoke with an expert Volvo transmission rebuilder, and he tell me the "throttle linkages" (the brain/guts of the transmission I am informed) is the same part number for 99-04 C70s.
Please only respond is you have direct experience with this. I have done enough "assuming" when it comes to this car
