Recently purchased this 99 S80 T6 153k miles. Having a battery drain issue of late and the trunk light will not come on.
I've reset the UEM, disconnected the battery terminals, reconnected then the trunk light comes on until I close and reopen trunk, then light is off again.
Directions or help with a fix? Could this be the battery drain cause? I thought about pulling the fuse to see if this solves it.
Thanks for any help or info you all can give. Loving this board!!

Trunk Light Issue / Battery Drain.
I disconnected trunk light, also disconnected fuel filler door lock (latch was broken would not lock) but lock mech. seemed to be working. Thought perhaps it might be draining trying to lock it sensing it wasn't. Any other suggestions? I'm going to get the meter out and start fuse and relay checking next.
Thanks.
Thanks.
After hooking up a meter and pulling relays and fuses one at a time the draw did not change which we found extremely strange.
I also noticed that the trunk lights would return to working status after hooking the meter between the neg. post and cable. But after the car had been started the trunk lights would not work AFTER the trunk had been closed and reopened.
Possible bad trunk latch assembly or micro-switch?
I closed the trunk with the meter still connected ... dropped from about 1.28 amp draw to 0.58 and then finally down to 0.03 -- I'll assume what I saw was the lights go out and then the computers shutdown after saving settings etc.
.... more testing coming.
