Engine check light on

Hie there,

I recently changed my ignition and all its components including the rc receiver on my 2001 volvo s40. But the problem is the engine check light went on and I dont know if it's coincidential. The car is running well with the new key. What could be the problem. I checked if I had damaged something in the process but everything looks fine. The dealer will charge me a lot for a simple diagnosis. Please help, have since parked my car though it is moving smoothly.

In the US we have many auto parts stores that read the codes for free. I am not aware of what is available in your area or how costly a code reader is for you.

You will have to get the codes read so that anyone can help you. With no symptoms the members would not know where to start and would just be guessing.

If you have a code reader please let us know what codes you are experiencing.
