I was told my shifter bushing is worn and needs to be replaced - how is this done - it was relatively cheap estimate - but would like to do it myself if possible

There is a rod that runs from the shifter to the transmission lever. On each end is the same part number bushing. On each end there is a clip you slide off the pin and then pull pin out of the lever. The bushing (maybe called a grommet) is removed if there is any of it left. You work the bushing into the hole and the put pin and clip back on.

thank you I will give that a shot this weekend just did the rear brakes not to bad a job - cost me $30.00 the garage estimated cost would have been $500. old pads still had a little left - rotors looked fine why would they charge so much? the same garage gave me an estimate for the shifter bushing for around 100. which i thought was a good deal - it would save me jacking up the car and crawling under it which I will probably do...
