Hello all,
I have a 1999 Volvo S80 2.9 and a few months ago I attempted to roll down the passenger window and the front fell forward as it was rolling down. I pulled it back up into place by hand and took the door apart per a few repairs I found on the website. The front slider clip was attach where it should but had fallen out of the slider that was attached to the window. I went ahead and changed the one nearest door jamb which went off without a hitch but now I can't seem to get the front one back into place. The slider bracket and slider never seem to line up at any point in time. There seems to be a 4 inch gap at all times when I run the window up and down. Am I doing something wrong or is there something else that is broken? Thanks.

The window goes up and into place with assistance and stay there. The picture above shows the front arm of the window regulator and then above it is the slider rail. There is 4 inches between those two pieces and when I roll the window up and down it never gets any closer so I do not know how to get the slider into the rail. Help, please? Thanks.

im going from VERY vauge memory here, but I think what worked for me was to pop the clip off the plastic pieces, remove them from the assembly, place them in the window glass and then move the mechanisim up and down until it was in a place that I could pop it back into the plastic pieces.
Hope this makes sense. In short, those plastic slider things come off.
