My '02 S60 AWD driver's window works only intermittently - occasionally works normally, but usually either refuses to go down or back up again.
In every case, shutting off the ignition and restarting will make it work for a while.
Is there a relay panel somewhere with replaceable window relays?
Thanks

When it does work is it going very slow?
I suspect you have the regulator arm to window bracket blue plastic "bushings" scored up and the window drags and the DDM is cutting off motor for overcurrent. The ignition cycling resets the motor override in DDM.
Look at IPDUSA.com and you'll find those pieces.

I tested it today, and it's faster than the passenger side, and shows no signs of "sticking" - just sometimes refusing to work. When it does work is it going very slow?
It seems that it doesn't want to malfunction with key in ACC position - only when engine is on.
On a related (vaguely) note - the battery has occasionally gone dead after sitting for a week.
I remember when my '99 XC had a dying battery, the clock was the first to malfunction - on the S60 is the driver's window the "canary" ?
Thanks

There is a wire harness and connector on the front frame of the door. The connector may have an intermittent connection which normally allows the window to work properly when the car is off but becomes intermittent when the car is started.
With the ignition off, open the drivers door as far as possible.
Locate the harness going into the front frame of the door.
Using a small screw driver gently lift the small lock on the top of the connector at the edge closest to the door frame and pull the connector out.
Check the connector for any corrosion or debris and clean with a lint free towel.
Apply some silicon dielectric compound to the face of the connector.
Reinstall the connector buy pushing it back into place and the connector lock snaps into place.
Start the car and see if it the window works better.

Cleaning that connector with De-Ox-It, my favorite contact cleaner, seems to have done the trick!
4 days so far without any problems (fingers crossed).
Thanks a LOT!
