s40 reconditioned radio code

My girl friend has a 2002 s40 that needed a radio,I got one at our local pick n pull, it is a reconditioned unit and the code supplied by volvo does not work.Any thoughts on how to retrieve the proper code?

Go to dealer parts dept and see if they will look it up using the code on radio. Buy some oil filters or something while you are there.
