programm selector switch vs. mode selector switch

Post by vova »

Hello everyone

Transmission trouble codes.
A1 trouble code 114 refers to programm selector switch short and code 124 refers to mode selector switch short according to the table posted on this forum for 1996-1998 volvos.

What is the difference between two? some say that this is one thing W-S-E switch next to shifter.
I dont think so
if there 2 different codes there has to be 2 different parts.

so what is programm selector?

i know what gear sensor position switch is.

thank you all

there are two inputs from the mode/program selector. The TCM diagnoses each input from the same two pole switch.
