car wont start

Post by jrapp56 »

I have a 2005 s40 that wont start. It sat in the freezing weather for a night and wouldn't start the next day or any day after for about 6 days. Initially it wouldn't do anythng when I turned the key but would turn over with a jump but not fire up. I changed the battery and put some dry gas into it but it still wont start days later. It currently still only turns over and does not fire. I though it may be water in the fuel lines that may have frozen but today is about 50 degrees and it has 3 cans of dry gas in w/alcohol. Does anyone have any ideas what it could be or what I could try?

I am having similar problem, however I eventually could get the car started it just will not idle. Did you try giving it gas while starting? An OBDII scan might help tell you if a sensor is malfunctioning. I am thinking mine is the Idle Control Valve stuck or broke but not ruling out fuel injection system.
