About to launch a new project (replace the timing belt on my wife's C-70) and I want to be certain I am fully informed. there seems to be a whole host of variations on the 5 cylinder engine in that C-70. The 850s, S-60s and S-70s all use it, but variations are the rule. The belt replacement is pretty straightforward, much the same as my 2000 S-80, except one cylinder shorter. Same type of tensioner, same type of variable cam timing...
The variance looks like it would be most evident in the PCV system, as these seem to change with the seasons in Sweden. I would be inclined to service the PCV at the same time I do the timing belt, as a whole bunch of stuff has to be removed...why do it twice?
Are there some procedures or "tricks" I should be aware of on this particular engine (HPT) that would aid and ensure success, or will I be OK following the tutorial jblackburn posted (PCV System Repair on a Volvo 5-cylinder) even though it is aimed at 1993-2000 5-cyl engines.

One really has nothing to do with the other
The T belt is on the front of the engine, (right side) the breather system is in the "middle" for lack of a better term

JRL and Rocky, thanks for your replies.
JRL, actually, one does have to do with the other. There are a bunch of pieces that have to come off to get to the timing covers, and those same pieces would be removed to gain access to the oil trap, etc. No sense in duplicating my effort. My question was aimed at things like the difficulty in getting the "hidden" fastener on the PCV canister on my S80. Volvo, in their wisdom, chose to build the engine around that particular part. I'm curious to know if I will encounter this sort of thing, and any other things that are peculiar to the HPT engine in a 2004 C70.
Rocky, thanks for the tip. I've heard of that trick when I did the belt on the S80. It works, and can save a lot of grief.
I was surprised when the local Volvo service writer said that they don't usually try to sell a water pump with the timing belt. They both have 108,000 on them...AND it is a royal PITA to get to that belt if the pump fails shortly after the belt replacement. Perhaps the dealer is thinking that it would generate another service call for them.

Volvo water pumps are very good and should not really be necessary until the next T-belt at 200K
