Hello all, I'm currently in the middle of swapping motors in my 2001 S40 (current one threw two rods!), and I'm sort of stuck at the moment. I've gotten everything unbolted and unhooked, and I've been able to separate the motor and transaxle to a point where I can see the flywheel, but I can't get them any farther apart for the engine to clear. I've even taken the bolt out of the drivers side transaxle mount so it could slide as far as it was able to, and still don't have enough clearance. Will removing the crankshaft pulley do the trick? Do I need to pull the transaxle and motor as one piece? Are there any step-by-step tutorials out there to aid in this?
Thanks,
Nick Hovey
