windscreen wipers and sprayer

Post by dgg9879 »

On my car the wipers don't work as well on drivers (right hand in Australia) side. This reduces visibility. It is as if the wiper is not fully pressed against the windscreen causing a smudging effect. Is this easy to fix? How can they be adjusted?

Also when I pull the lever forward to spray the windscreen the wipers operate first and then the fluid sprays. This mean the wipers are momentaryily wiping a dry windscreen. I've heard this is bad (don't know why or what problem it causes). Can an adjustment be made so it sprays first then wipes or is this just a quirk of the Volvo?

I may not be able to fix these things myself but it would be good to know if it is at least possible to get them fixed.

It could also just need a new blade, which is pretty cheap usually.

The delay you spoke of is just one of those Volvo quirks. I'm sure there's some way to modify the system, but it's not worth it to me  .
