Second Question:
Bought my 1999 V70XC from a somewhat shady buy-here-pay-here dealer in the intent of a project that would or could run decently while pleasing my wife who was never fond of my old Subaru... So back to a Volvo, traded my last 245 for the Subie... Back to the question at hand. The salesman admitted that they had issues getting the beast started. After some extensive routine maintenance, the battery, as they assumed and replaced with a much smaller battery, was definitely not the problem as they'd hoped... I plan on buying a new correctly sized battery (while the current one is inappropriately small, still works, only problem are the terminals getting loose at times) and purchased a shiny new battery clip since mine is MIA. I have no idea how this thing is installed. Any suggestions? About to bust into some deeper searching but anything regarding the placement of the clip would be greatly appreciated.

should be a plastic clip that clips into the bottom of the tray.

The battery hold down clips into the front of the tray on the left side as you are looking at the battery (in my picture it is just right of the dirty red wire, the shinny black piece) it clips into the notches in the tray based on the battery length and just rocks down into a locked position.

Thanks again. I haven't seen anything posted about it. I should re-state my previous comment, seems a bit too cocky... After noticing the notches, my first guess was in the general area but the picture and info will make the installation pretty painless when it comes time to replace the battery. Also feel a need to replace the terminals as well so this is most useful. Just took care of my other post though... So the battery waits for now... But looking forward to this project very soon.
Just got back from helping a friend change the brakes on a Nissan truck. I was reminded despite having taken on a bit of a personal project, he uttered a dreaded phrase: drum brakes. Luckily I had none of that none sense tonight... And seemingly my luck of avoiding that mess is through recurring Volvo ownership.
